Anyone interested in this one? It's an Image title coming out this summer. Here is the official word from the Image boards.

JOHN LAYMAN AND ROB GUILLORY'S CHEW TO MAKE COMICS DEBUT IN THE WALKING DEAD!
Upcoming Image Comics crime series set to first appear in Image Comics' top-seller, THE WALKING DEAD!

John Layman and Rob Guillory's highly anticipated June-shipping ongoing crime series with a sick yet tasteful twist, CHEW, will make its first full appearance in the comic book blockbuster, THE WALKING DEAD, this May.

"Having CHEW debut in WALKING DEAD is extremely appropriate considering I hope CHEW does for cannibalism what WALKING DEAD did for zombies," Layman said. "Seriously, Rob and I are very flattered to have CHEW debut in one of the biggest books out there today. While very different in its approach, I think fans of Kirkman and Adlard's ongoing saga of human survival despite the worst possible situations will love Detective Tony Chu's ongoing saga of surviving the worst possible situations despite his very distinct and sometimes burdening ability. It's going to be a weird, wild ride."

CHEW's star, Detective Tony Chu, is a cop with a secret. As a Cibopathic, Detective Chu gets a psychic impression from whatever he eats. While it means he's a hell of a Detective if he can stomach the evidence, once his secret gets out the government makes plans for him, whether he likes it or not. CHEW blends horror, mystery and the strangest ability of them all in an ongoing series of horrific crimes solved in the most horrific way possible. The preview in THE WALKING DEAD will give fans their very first glimpse into CHEW's dark underworld and the lone man with a literal taste to bring the criminal empire down.

THE WALKING DEAD writer Robert Kirkman added, "John Layman's an excellent writer who has done fantastic work for Marvel and DC, but I'm even more excited he's bringing his creator-owned series to Image. CHEW is an extremely original concept that's ideal for what Image looks for. I couldn't be be happier to debut the series in THE WALKING DEAD and look forward to reading the series."

THE WALKING DEAD #61 (MAR092467), a 32-page black & white comic book featuring the preview of CHEW #1 for $2.99, will be in-stories May 13th, 2009. CHEW #1 (APR090337), a 32-page full color comic book for $2.99, will be in-stores June 3rd, 2009.

TWD 61 is out, the Chew preview at the end was awesome. I'm defiantly going to be picking that one up.

You know...through the Kingdom, here, I'm slowly getting back into some good independent comics, and CHEW is great!!! Actually it's rather gross, but the idea and the concept is so out there and original that I'm really like it!!!

The first 5 issues being out now have been nothing short of a great sign of comics to come. It was complete randomness but it was a welcome randomness. An almost unique style from start to finish. For a 2.99 title I recommend picking it up for sure and giving it a shot! :nightcrawler:

The last released number (#5) was really good. It seems the story will get bigger and better from now. I was a bit disappointed with the "independent" comics from Image, and I'm glad they've got this unusual and original story.

I've read all the issues so far and I'm VERY impressed with the way that this writer is working it. Part comedy, part sci-fi, some action too? Yea, I wish alot more creators would be willing to take a step out into the unknown like this guy!

I took a look at the series when the first issue was released. I read about three pages in and walked away. Now, several months later, I find I'm rather hooked.

As far as I have been led to believe, this is an ongoing series. With sales as good as they have been I don't think its going anywhere for a while. Its numbers are up there with books like Proof (also a really good Image read)

I just ordered the trade after reading issues #6 and #7.

I got really hooked with it and like the idea/concept behind it. This is definatly the best crime oriented thing since Dexter.

The world needs more quality comics like this.
