Hey, don't count out Burt yet... with him you get Deadpo :deadpool:l the Merc with a Moustache!

Hehehe...but seriously...I don't get why this fixation with Ryan Reynolds to play Deadpool... I mean, ok, the guy's looks good (but that wont really matter) and he can uhmm..like talk (so the mouth comes in play)...but he can be bit I dunno...whinny?? Besides, he's been in several dozen movies already including Blade...So if not him...who else?

How about: (I promise it's not Burt! or no goo...its not Peter North either)

Spoiler: show

It's logical (Ryan, not the intern lol).

Ryan has mastered this type of character, funny (?) douchebag with a heart of gold. He plays most of his characters the same way (lots of romantic comedies), and he's got a healthy dose of physique to go with DP.

Plus, he's popular enough to be recognizable by the average moviegoer ("hey, isn't that the guy from that movie, the one with the chick?" "Yup"), but not overly expensive as Hugh Jackman, for example (although I'm taking a wild guess here).

He's proved that he can handle both comedy and action, at the same time, so there you go, instant Deadpool.

I don't know about the FULL costume. I would like something pretty close at least. If they at least get rid of the the sword-claws and the eyebeams I think I'll be good.

I'm pretty sure they did that only to spice up the Wolverine finale.

Stiffuppalip...ewww...NEVER do that again!

But..am I the only thinking that it might be worth a chuckle to see Burt Reynolds explode a hip trying to play Deadpool?

That's kind of reassuring to hear Reynolds say that; Origins had me pretty worried, with the arm swords, the lack of a mouth and all =/

I think I read somewhere...(Newsarama, maybe??)...in an article that since Ryan Reynolds has officially signed to play Green Lantern, that it puts the Deadpool movie on hold. I don't know what Fox's time table was in getting Deadpool 'out there' to the masses via his movie....but if they still want Reynolds, they'll have to wait until he's done with GL.

If he is going to wear the costume I hope he keeps the darn mask on. I could not stand looking at Toby Mcguire in Spiderman 3. Neither he nor Venom could keep their masks on!!!

It dosent matter how much pull an actor has a studio will always come in and mess things up. Also Ryan Reynolds is not that established as an actor for studios to bend over backwards for. Hopefully fox actually listens to the tremendous pouring of bad mouthing that fan boys have been posting online but looking back at their track recored they will mess it up

I would like to see this done well. Was so thouroughly dissapointed with the Origins movie. Hope they go for a more all round weapon base, Deadpool isnt just about the swords. Theres a lot of jokes to be had with a gun....... Knock Knock......

guys, guys, reynolds is a perfect match for deadpool... he's got that mouth that deadpool has, anywhoz I'm sure there are gonna be some flashbacks or whatnot but at the end of wolverine origins after the credits on the dvd you see him picking up his head to reattaching it. I think the movies gonna pick up where he left off there and we will learn how he got out of the mind control striker had on him. but i think its gonna be awesome!!!!

however the weird thing is he is going to be deadpool and green lantern, so that may be a little weird to get used to but reynolds says he's thrilled cause he's "getting the best of both worlds(universes)". :deadpool:

to all those who say ryan has no clout, depending on the director they get he might not need it. all you need is a director with pull(j.j. abrams, spielberg, eastwood) to listen to him or the fans and boom instant ok movie. Maybe they should jon favreu the guy who directed iron man, he looks like hes at least interested in source material.
