Hey everyone

So I am a big fan of FMA and i just showed it to my roommates for the first time, and they loved it. We just finished the anime and cant wait for brotherhood. I recently found out that the FMA manga is still ongoing, so my question is:

how long do you think Brotherhood is going to be?

What chapter should i start at if I want to start the manga where it diverges from the anime? Is the manga good?

Thanks for your help.

I haven't watched the anime in a really long time, but I just finished rereading the manga. I can't say the exact episode, but I can say the too are completely different. The manga currently at 103 chapters (probably an episode per chapter, I think that is what the first one did), I heard it is going to end soon. I hope this is of some help to you. :-)

I'm a big fan too!! I watched all of the 2003. anime episodes, an i'm following brptherhood too.... As far as I know Brotherhood is going to last 52 episodes(just as long as 2003 version, if we include the movie).. manga is going to end soon.... Fathers plans are about to be revealed....

You probably have your answer already, but I would skip to chapter 10, right after they encounter the first stone, things start to differ from the original anime. Just so you know

FMA brotherhood follows the manga exactly. Truly amazing series. I get emotional watching/ reading it.

I realize this is an old thread, but now that FMA Brotherhood is at episode 48, I think that anyone not watching it should definitely do so.

It really is a great series and while I may get flamed for saying this; I think it's far better than the other FMA series. Brotherhood is a lot truer to the manga, and the story seems grittier and more dramatic.

If you are not a fan of anime, you should still read the manga; its very good.

I like Brotherhood more than original anime, because it stays true to the manga... I liked first anime too, but Brotherhood wins for me...

I believe there were 60 episodes that were commissioned for fma brotherhood. 9 more than the original series. I thought brotherhood is very close to the manga so you wouldn't miss much if you skipped the manga and just watched the anime although you could be like me and do both!
