Ever wonder what would happen if Raymond Chandler wrote Daredevil?
Well wonder no longer, because early next year Marvel Noir will debut with three limited-series creating all-new stories re-imagining our heroes in the roaring 30's.
According to Executive Editor Axel Alonso, who will also shepherd DAREDEVIL NOIR, the idea for the various series developed rather naturally.

So this is what the B&W teaser images were all about. Could be interesting but sounds like an Elseworlds story, not really a reason to start a new comics imprint.

Here's links to the pics if you haven't seen them:

Cyclops
Rogue
Gambit
Spider-man

Another timeline, another theme. Hope this is way better than Marvel Apes.

Apes, Zombies, Ultimates... None have grabbed my attention. This however looks like it could be good. Gambit looks awesome.

Is it just me or does Spidey look a bit like a Rorscach...?

No idea what that is.

He does have the grapple gun, though.

I'm into these concepts, especially if the artwork is good. I'm dying to read Marvel Zombies, but probably won't venture around to Marvel Apes unless I get really hard up for material.

I thought that was just smoke coming from a regular six-shooter. Suppose a grapple would make more sense though.

Here's some more info on the titles. Initially three 4-issue mini-series with a Wolverine mini to follow next year. Creative teams on the books are:

X Men - Fred Van Lente (W), Dennis Calero (A)
Spider-Man - David Hine (W), Carmine Di Giandomenico (A)
Daredevil - Alexander Irvine (W), Tom Coker (A)
Wolverine - Stuart Moore (W), CP Smith (A)

As Chandler is dead and someone named Alexander Irvine is scheduled to write it, I think I'll keep wondering.

I haven't really liked the X-Men series but the Spider-Man one is very cool.

I've been reading them since they begun releasing them. They're an interesting spin on the whole super hero topic, in my opinion. The fact that the X-Men are using the old Angel super hero from the 40'es as their version of Angel is an awesome touch, too. Some interesting twists that I hadn't thought of, given the normal canon, such as JJJ's actions in the ending of issue 2.

Yeah I quite like the styling. That's really the reason I picked the series up. Very faithful to the style of the old film noir.

Man, I just finished reading Daredevil Noir, and it was excellent!!! I hope to see much more where that came from!

One thing I loved, which was perfectly in line with the genre, was that Bullseye...

[WARNING: MAJOR SPOILER!]

Spoiler: show
was a woman!

Daredevil was one of the best imo, along with Spider-Man.

What other characters would work well with the Noir theme? I'm thinking Elektra and Hawkeye would fit well. Anybody else have any ideas?
