I haven't been reading Superboy. Am I missing out on something?

Ok, figured I'd catch up when the TPB comes out anyway.

Ive been reading through superboy too ... its an interesting cross over and explores more into his reluctance to go after the other metas and his resistance to authority. Until the story takes off on its own and gets away from the Titans storyline, then its not really worth picking up at the moment. Its a cool story with some pretty awesome fights while he's learning his powers and worth reading eventually but doesn't add much to the Titans story line.

I've been loving all of Lobdell's New 52 series...they're probably the 3 books I enjoy the most out of the reboot...well besides Scott Snyder's Batman

I'm more of a fan of the first generation of teen titans - Nightwing, Donna, Speeedy, Garth, Raven, etc. I've never gotten into the younger group with Tim Drake. They always seemed to blend in when needed and then melt away when not. I have been vastly disappointed with how little DC has done with my preferred team, many of them are just gone and the rest have been mucked up royally. I turned to this Titans in desperation. I think the first introductory story arc fell very flat. The creators weren't worried about creating a good plot but simply providing a lot of exposition for the future. I agree about Skitter's character being overly contrived and a lot of the personalities in this book leave a lot to be desired. Overall I feel like Teen Titans has been very b flat since it's reboot.

However, that being said. They set the groundswork for some solid building up. I will keep my eye on it because there are a few solid plot stakes they just need to get through the rough start.

On a side note, I'd love a Tim/Cassie get together simply because DC creators have toyed with the idea of a Bat-guy / Wondergirl get together for decades. They've always erred on the side of caution. Wonder Woman and Batman were almost something in JLA, but then they had to pull away because WW (let's face it, the DC higher ups) was afraid their relationship would become the be all end all. Then Dick and Donna "loved" each other and were relegated to brother/sister status, mainly becaus e I think Donna's character was never fully developed outside of her "clone of Diana" status, whereas Conner was definitely pulled out of the mires of being Clark 2.0. That's why Cassie was such a breath of fresh air for people. But her major character developments were set up during the Clark/Diana fan craze and because everyone understood that Clark was eternally Lois's, Caaise and Conner became consolation. And then they fit well until Conner's death ...

so let's get Superboy out of Teen Titans for the foreseeable future and let Cassie and Tim fully explore what fans have been teased with for decades. End of rant! :)

Sucks imho.

I dunno, in the language of men "getting the crap kicked out of you by ..." or "almost being defeated (for a change) by that one guy ..." could spark something later. like, perhaps, build a slight foundation of respect, or at least wary, that could turn ... ^ ^ bromantic, for lack of better term

the foundation for Conner and Tim, as far as my understanding goes - which is admittedly limited - was that Tim could explain/translate "human" for Conner without the wonder/god vibes Cassie gave off. Tim, similar but also so very very different from the role Batman plays in JLA, was to see/represent/explain the every man to the rest of the team without being an every man character - what with his genius and acrobatic abilities. I don't think the current Conner is ready or interested in the "human" that Tim would have to explain; although with each issue he gets closer to it. Unfortunately, it seems as though this growing period for Superboy is going to continue without Tim for a time yet, and that perhaps by the time the two do form a bond of any kind Conner may not need Tim for his past role.

this is one of the few times where I feel completely comfortable saying "let's wait and see" and I honestly don't second guess too much of it. I do have a couple of hopes for how things will pan out, things I personally have always fondly wanted to see and hope that this new reboot will allow authors to finally toy with, but honestly this series writer/artist/tone gives me such a sense of confidence and security in the quality of the story I don't fret (okay ... I don't fret about any titles, but it's such an awesome word) about it. :)

I officially hate Teen Titans now. Brainwashing Teen heroes into fighting/working for an organization. That's totally original...oh, wait, Teen Titans already did it, only a few years ago. This makes even less sense, atleast then it was some kind of fight club, and it got broken up quickly. This is kidnapping them and keeping them. I'm sure that if they stay brainwashed, Batman will just ignore his old sidekick Red Robin dissappearing/becoming an evil agent <_<

Also, DC, stop using pre 52 heroes in stupid roles just to annoy me. The new Rose Wilson and Omen are particularly annoying. Before you know it, Miss Martian will show up as the leader of a white martian invasion, Beast Boy will be a tarzan clone, and Raven will be a super goth, surpassing even New 52 Zatanna.

I have to admit, I was really excited about teen titans until the new release. Then I was just like.... <_< I mean, I just don't get it. I really don't, maybe it'll make more sense in a little bit, but right now it just seems very weird.

Frankly, I think the foundation for Connor/Tim comes from admittedly slashy moments where people read a scene and are like: wtf...subliminal message.

here are but a few examples:

New secret? What's the old one? <_<

Right. Lets stress that my just a little more, Tim. <_<

Hugs!

That, and there was this line in one of the Teen Titans/Red Robin comics that was something along the lines of "Tim, if you call for me I'll always hear you and come to you."

<_< Sure you will, Connor, because your actions are totally motivated simply to help. <_< <_<

^_^ Irrefutable proof right there.

I agree with the person who said "no'' in response to your question. The only reason I am following Superboy's latter works (from #5 to present) is because it's being used to set up for The Ravagers and has hosted several Gen13 characters. Once The Ravagers comes out this month, I'll probably get Superboy of this month as well since it'll most likely tie in, I'm planning on dropping Superboy unless other Gen13 things happen.

I do like the Teen Titans ongoing, it was slow to get started but it's intriguing enough for me to follow it now. It's not a top 3 pick but I've dropped other books without feeling the need to drop Teen Titans. Superboy shows up when he wants to and does what he needs to do in Teen Titans and there's no need to follow Superboy to understand it. :)

I am in the midst of reading the Teen Titan Annual that came out the beginning of this month and can literally feel the cobwebs being pulled off my memory banks as I recall that there was a Teen Titan with the original team (founded by Dick, Donna, Roy, Garth, Wally, etc) named Lillith Clay aka Omen, she died early in her career at the same time that Donna Troy was killed for reasons that still annoy me.

Is the Omen that is in this annual the same character rebooted? I wonder why they chose her as their first "original Teen Titan member" to appear in the TT pages. ... She's completely and totally different! Perhaps they just happen to have the same name ...

I wanted to read this series but I just cant. The art is holding me back, it looks like it came straight from the 90's, busy costumes and all, and when there not in costume they dress like the cast of Blossom. I wish they would of used Blue Beetle, Static, and other more recognizable teen hero's than using the three new ones.

good to know I'm not the only one who can't stand Brett Booth's art,and if Bunker,Skitter and Solstice won't get popular by the end of the year, they'll be killed off by the next big crossover event for pure shock value.
