Apart from games where the sound is neccessary (like Resident Evil), I usually play with the sound off & my own music on.

I see well sometimes they have some good music for games. So do you know the name of the band and song that does the song at the very beginning of Kingdom Hearts 2?

Just had a quick look and it appears to be a song called "Passion" by Hikaru Utada.

Nah, all the WWE games have a rock soundtrack - loads of vocals on those.

Nearly all Square Enix video games feature a vocal theme song. The first Kingdom Hearts had "Hikari" or "Simple and Clean" for the english version, The World Ends with You had "A Lullaby for You".

It is generally expected for most video games with a decent soundtrack to have at least one song with vocals.

Check out the Final Fantasy X-2 soundtrack. The game opens with one of the characters performing in a concert.

FF games are the only ones were I have the sound on, most game soundtracks suck.

I like games that have a more cinematic soundtrack to it and that stick to instrumentals. Off the top of my head I really really liked Left 4 Dead and Dragon Age: Origins' soundtracks.

You're all spoilt. I had Manic Miner on the Spectrum, you couldn't turn the music off as it came direct from the machine. Try listening to the "Entertainer" contructed from 3 beeps for hours at an end. Doo doo doo doo doo do do do doo, doo doo doo do doo do.........

personally used to love the music Yuzo Koshiro produced for Sega way back when. My Lover from The Revenge of Shinobi (good ending theme) springs to mind.

also, unrelated-but-not, this.

damn arcades stealing my hard-earned pocket money...

I usually play with the sound off unless I need to hear what the characters are saying. Love the music from DMC 3 and FF VIII. Pokemon music gets stuck in my head.
