Its great being able to read parts of story arcs that you get into when buying old coics and end up missing an issue or two and can't find them anywhere else.

I use digital comics for lots of reasons.

1) To download some series I just can't afford to get individually; I then buy the tpb/HC when they come out.
2) To see if I like new series; Like atm, I'm reading v3 of Teen Titans, and it's so good that I want it in tpb as soon as possible.
3) To read stuff that's just not available anywhere else, or wouldn't involve tracking down loads of individual issues on ebay.

Hopefully this is what you guys want this forum to be used for :D

Pretty much the same here. Majority of what I download I'll get eventually. All of Green Lantern I plan on buying the tpbs, and am up to date with current releases. However, it's such a good read I can't wait ages for the rest to be released, so I'll d/l to stay up to date with current goings on.

Well... I am a comic collector and when time allows it an avid reader!!
Regarding the subject of this thread... Nowadays I am mostly and e-comicbook collector and the reason may seem wrong... because they are widely available and free?

Nooooo... I have been buying comics all my life (right now the number goes to 3000-4000)
and the question is kinda obvious: what do I do with them?
I relocate a lot for working reasons and the squared meter of rented apartments is rather expensive where I live.

Buying paper is just not practical anymore!!

Well glad you've got this up because I've previewed comics I've never heard of before and I'd have to say that helps out the business when some are bought so...THANKS!

as I've gone through the forums, I've really discovered some great stuff both old and new to me.
2 years ago I moved across the country and stored a lot of my stuff back home in Arizona. I've downloaded some of the stuff I have in storage and have got the urge to read... and it's just awesome being able to read stuff that I know I can't just pick up out of my collection when I want...

A legal bit like this ensues that piracy goes unabated...do you think people are so naive after reading a comics the interest doesn't hold to that extent to buy that at the local store....

It's really simple - if you download something and like it (I won't argue about if you should download it in the first place) you should definitely buy it. Otherwise the thing you like may not be made anymore. This goes for pretty much anything that can be pirated. If the revenue stream is poor the thing we like will get cancelled. A lot of people have the opinion, well, it won't hurt if I don't...problem is everyone thinks like that. If you like it, throw some money at it and more of the same will be created, that's how the economy works. Just my 2 cents.

There's no where near me, within 3 hours drive, that sells comics so I have no option but to download them. But I subscribe to Marvel's online comics, which I use very infrequently, to give some cash back and support the industry. (the majority of my reading at the moment is marvel)

And I still buy collected volumes on amazon (recently bought a load of Y the Last Man) just not individual copies unfortunately. When I was a kid living in the states I could hop on my bike and be down the store in 2 minutes, those were the days! :wolverine:
