Everyone should read Patrick Rothfuss: Name of the Wind... it is a very well written book... just taking him a while to actually come out with the second book.

Reading the 4th Dexter book, and just started the His Dark Materials series. Also a stack of magazines: Science, New science, Scientific American, Discovery, ummm... there could be more, but those are all that come to mind right this second. I tend to skip have a magazine going most all the time.

How is the 4th Dexter book. I thought the 1st was ok but rushed as it tried to cram the entire 1st season in 1 book. I felt the 2nd & 3rd went downhill especially what they did with Doakes and adding voodoo or magick taking away from the realism.

I liked the first two a lot, but the third bugged me with the Dark Passenger being all mystical. I love Dexter's relationships with the kids, though.

The fourth one is very intense so far and I have just barely started it, very graphic, which is okay with me, but seems like Jeff is pushing it, trying hard to be shocking. I will probably have more to say when I have finished it.

Anything by Terry Pratchett or Jim Butcher. I just finished reading Jim Butcher's "Codex Alera" series, and I must say, I was rather impressed. I'm really loving anything and everything that I have read by both of these authors.

Aaand The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins is next on my reading list.

I am reading Silverthorn but not really enjoying it. I find it boring with all those convenient plot twists and flat characters. I am also reading The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Napoleon, pretty interesting read but sometimes I feel kinda lost because I am not very familiar with the political situation in France in the 1840's.

Back on topic, personally, I've been tossing around the idea of finally reading Game of Thrones. Heard very little other than good things.

Read it !
A Song of Ice and Fire is one of the best fantasy series out there. Each chapter is done in the point of view of a different character . Even though some of these characters are bitter rivals you ,as the reader end up routing for both sides at the same time .

I JUST finished Under the Dome by Stephen King.

While I've loved alot of his books (most all of them)

This is by far the WORST book I've read in a LOOOONG time, and for it to be King is an even bigger insult to me personally.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS BOOK!

World War Z is awesome but took me so long to understand some parts which had like the economy and stuff which was damn dry.
But when they go to war, the writing is so good that it plays out like a movie!

Anyways,currently reading,

A Hat Full Of Air - Terry Pratchett ( a bit too fantastical for me though )

I just started Steven Erikson's latest novel in the Malazan series, Dust of Dreams.
I think this is supposed to be the second last in the series , so there should be some crazy plot twists in this one.

Damn. I was hoping this was going to be one of his hits, not his misses. The premise sounded intriguing. :/

Ah, well, I shall move it to the 'I'm feeling brave/foolhardy/like punishing myself' pile. :D

Edited to add: Just finished Pratchett's The Dark Side of the Sun. Fun!
