Are there any other archers here?

If so what do you shoot; recurve, compound or longbow?

I am not an archer but I do have an interest in it and I would like to learn to do it cause to me it seems like it would be really cool to do.

The best way is to find a local club, every club has equipment for people starting to shoot or just trying it out and most clubs will let non-members shoot, so long as a coach is there to supervise if you're a beginner.

Got a friend who has a full kit and is pretty good. Had a go myself but don't know enough about it to tell you what type of bow or whatever.

What an interesting sport man, there's a club up my way but never stopped to think about it being a pass time - Is it an expensive thing to do or can you get cheap begginner type stuff?

Alot of clubs have equipment for people to use, basic but usable stuff. A basic setup of your own is abut 200-400, the pro stuff goes into the thousands. But that's just recurve.
