Any favourites you want to share or recommend? My friend has recently been talking to me a lot about Amnesia: The Dark Descent, which looks pretty freaking terrifying ... I've never been particularly afraid of the dark but this game is starting to turn that around for me. Has anyone played this? Or either of the F.E.A.R. games? Or Fatal Frame? Silent Hill? Haunted House (kay, it may not look as hardcore or graphic as the others, but it still seems like it'd stress you out at least in that pressured/freaky-fast-ghost-chase-kinda way! I'll admit it would to me ... )?

That you are here. That life exists, and identity.

That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse.

I'm a fan of "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" an ethical point-and-click game, while horrifying,I'm not sure how scary it is by modern standards.

Only played Silent Hill, and watched someone play Fatal Frame for awhile. I'm not scared very easily by video games though. If you like these kind of games, I recommend you try Dead Space.

I do recommend the Fatal Frame series. Great atmosphere and visuals. Another one, which is pretty ok for me is Ku-On, which is set in Medieval Japan and is about exorcists and a curse on manor grounds.

Is Fatal Frame the same as Project Zero. Anyhoo Proect Zero was awesome, genuinly un-nerving.
Just picked up Deadly Premonition, which is really cheesy, but what little of it I played I'm enjoying it. Its early on but is meant to be really scary

Condemned: Criminal Origins is probably the scariest game I've ever played... this one part in an old department store really freaked me out...

OK, that definitely made me jump/yell a few times. Hahahah. I totally remember seeing clips from this game! The dude in the locker, anyway. I'd play it if I wasn't sure I'd cry and die trying ... in that order ...

Right now I'm playing Dead Space 1 (before I can start the 2nd)
During the first 10 min I nearly had a heart attack !
Very frustrating game, but very fun !

I just completed Dead Space. It wasn't too scary but it was a beautifully designed game. Resident Evil 4 is a classic horror game and rightly so, it's amazing

Dead Space 1 and 2! just beat the second one and lost a couple pairs of under wear along the way. Condemned 2 bloodshot is pretty scary and the online is really fun also.

I have played fear and dead space,
but I personally get more scared in the anticipation of getting scared then I actually get when the horror begins.

So I got Amnesia ... and I just got to the water part and I refuse to continue for the time being. I'm too terrified. Whenever I'm just about to play I always think, "Oh, it won't be so bad this time around. Just think about other things and don't focus on the scary noises and all that." But, of course, you CAN'T because it's a puzzle game and you want to spend the least amount of time running around as possible so you have to pay attention because not only is running into a monster a b*tch but going insane is also super annoying especially when you have to find light and you don't want to waste tinderboxes/oil and ahhhhhhh.

Stress. That's what this game is. I'm still wondering why I'm playing. Sigh.

If you have an Ipad or Iphone try Dead Space 2, Its a great headphone game. But I would recommend that you don't play it at night as you wont sleep!
