To be honest, thinking was not high on my list of priorities at that point of the evening.
In hindsight though, certainly a brave tattoo to get.

Ah I see I think I get what you mean you really wouldn't think about the tattoo especially in the situation you were in. But back on topic I am a person of various interests and I want eventually to get a Marilyn Monroe tattoo cause I am a fan of her photos and think she is really beautiful and I would love to get her tattooed on me.

some interesting imagery being presented here, f'sure. I love the idea of Faust's skeletal wings, and the 'zipper' tattoo is kinda cute.

personally, I am as yet un-inked. permanently speaking, anyway. although it's an idea I've toyed with god knows how many times in the past. and looks more and more likely to happen at some stage.

my only real reason for not having anything done as yet is my ridiculous fickle nature. guaranteed, if I got a tat? a week later I'd be all "dammit... if I'd done this, instead, or had this bit done like that...".

never happy :P

an artist friend of mine is presently an apprentice tattooist, though. so the subject's been more at the forefront, as it were. and we both have similar tastes, artistically. she told me the other day she could see me with a 'Prisoner'-style penny-farthing tramp stamp (given my love for said show). I presume she was kidding <_<

if and when, though, I'd definitely want to get something geometric, so to speak. I love lines and shapes. perhaps something akin to Apnea's infamous 'squares' tat, (if folk know who and what I'm referring to).

I currently have three tatoos.

The first one I got done is a cross with wings and a halo on my right upper arm.

Second is a Kanji of 'Busihdo' (way of the samurai) a code I admire

The third is a huge mistake on my part and I need to cover up... course I don't know how i'm going to do it.. I decided to do it in color to muck up some more.. Anyway, it's a red heart with a fairey wing, in green and an angel wing in white with hewbrew lettering undneath it that says 'healing'..... it's on my forearm... so even MORE of a fuck up..

If we have any artists in the house that know of a way to cover that up with some comic reference? I'd be grateful lol

I have four tatts. The first i got when i was 14 years old, dumb idea but i love it. Its the symbol for psychopathic records a "hatchet man" that caps my whole left shoulder. I have my first born son's footprint, first and middle name over my heart. I have "Sin City" in grafitti letters on my right forearm, that i designed while in training for the US Army. The last one i had done is on my left hand ring finger, an infinity symbol to take the place of my wedding ring. I work on helicopters for a living and i am not able to wear jewlery, so my wife liked the idea and we did it. I have plans to do quite a few more tatts, but raising three kids is quite expensive.

currently I do not have any tats
I do have a friend who does tats and has already promised me that when I decide to get one he'd give me one for free (something about virgin skin or somesuch)
I have toyed with an idea about a tombstone with a bulldog breaking through it on one of my shoulders with my fathers birth and death date inscribed on the stone (he was nicknamed 'Mikey Dog' and died in '95 but I just haven't done it for the same reasons as envy, i'd always be second guessing it.

Kevx i have one thing to say, dont get a tattoo just because its free or meaningful. Not to say those are not good reasons, but i have seen to many tatts that were crappy looking, overdone, or didnt fit the persons body for those reasons. I have been ahnging out in shops for years and all i know is that only you know when you want a tatt, where you want it and who you want to do it. You can never over think something you are going to have on your body forever.

Surely 'meaningful' is a good reason? Mine meant a lot to me personally, but also I just wanted one.

Funk my good sir, meaningful is a great reason, all of my tatts have great meaning, but a thrown togeather meaning is not a great idea. Like i said, you can never over think an idea, but you can put too much into a tattoo. A 100lbs of shit in a 10lbs bag if you will. His idea of his father tatt, although a great idea, would look quite odd if it was say on his calf. Something that detailed would look crappy unless streched out over a longer "canvas". I have seen many good ideas done poorly, and most artists will take your ideas and run with it. Don't be afraid to ask your artists opion, if they are truely great at their art they will be happy to work on something with you. To sum it all up do what you want to your skin, but dont rush in on the first idea you have, give it time, remember it lasts forever.

so I finally went and did it.

looking back at my post of three months ago, I'd say this was a fair evolution of those thoughts.

three :harley: diamonds. upper right arm.

my artist was and is an absolute star. and I could not be more happy with how it turned out.

presently aches like a bastard, natch. maybe I'll throw some pics up when it's good and healed. if I remember.

Kool Tattoos...kool tattoos...

The Angel wing/Skeleton wing...
The date of when you & your wife said your vows on under your ring
(Should've married me, lol, just kidding, I'm a guy...nah, seriously, congrats Funk. Lucky man!)
Kevx, you should have that done by a professional cause whatever you tattoo on your skin, it is permanent. Like to remind people that
Point is, I wouldn't let somebody mark me unless they can spin that tattoo gun like a revolver.
Uh, I cant go that far on this thingy down here, but that dude that got the bricks on his back. I thought it was Snake Eye's tattoo that he has on his forearm, but it's still kool.
Envy, if thats the diamond tattoo on your picture that you were talking about, looks nice. :-)

Me, I dont have a tattoo yet. I just like I said to Kevx, I want it professionally done. Cause I'm afraid of the aftermath...

Took a while to think just now, but If I do get a tattoo, my first one would be an Egyptian tattoo. A picture of Ra, Hes the Sun God. Gives us life & death...or maybe his name in Hieroglyphs

nah, s'not me. my avatar is actually cropped from this fan-made poster mock-up on deviantART, by chupa-chups-life.

my three diamonds run up the front and side of my upper right arm, from about an inch above the elbow joint all the way up to the shoulder.

ooooh, Batman teaser poster. Nice choice...but the villain on the next Batman movie better not be Harley Quinn! The Riddler is better :D

But the tattoo sounds kool, diamonds are a girl's best friend. Must've hurt...I'm feel nervous about getting mine. I've always been afraid of needles. Plus I dunno where I want it, cause I dont wanna regret it later :?

I have several tats, an armband, an ankle band, a sleeve, one on each thigh and one on my lower back. They are mostly either celtic or asian designs, oh, and a feather on my other ankle. I designed one of the thigh tats myself and it is hard to explain but it is like a personal sheild, in a spiritual sense.

The one on my back is very colorful bright vines with jewels worked into it.
