Personally I didn't manage to get into oblivion, but Skyrim is looking like it is going to be pretty darn good ;)

So here are some videos with details about the game.

New features worth mentioning(Let me know if you miss something):
- Random dragon fights.
- No finite number of dragons.
- Your character will be dragonbourne(as stated in the trailer), this results in your character having magical "shouts".
- Combat seems to be largly focused on the ability to dual wield stuff. examples: magic and one handed weapon, magic and magic, one handed weapon and on handed weapon and one handed weapon and shield (I'm pretty sure there will be two handed stuff too, but the combat seem to be focused on dual wielding.)

Skyrim is currently planned to release 11.11.11

I liked the uniqueness of Oblivion [maybe it was just unique to me haha] but like you I didn't exactly get into it and finish it. I am really interested in seeing the next Elder Scroll game. Thanks for the trailer!

I hope it's going to be good. Now I want to try it :D

No not really as oblivion is not a direct sequel of morrowind i would assume the same for skyrim. In fact i played oblivion before morrowind and got on just fine with it :D although i would still recommend playing them as they are both fantastic games. Hope that helps buddy :D

I was fairly excited when I saw the trailer for this, so far the game looks amazing. I'm hoping that what happened to Oblivion doesn't happen with Skyrim, multiple release delays.

Maynpayn, Skyrim isn't a direct sequel to Oblivion, but the events of Oblivion set in motion the events of Skyrim. Like garyr85 said, you don't have to play any of the previous games to knows what's going, there be tons of books in the game that if you take the time to read a small portion of them, you'll figure out what happened in Oblivion and/or Morrowind.

And the other two games. This is Elder Scrolls V, after all. ;)

I can't wait. I have been waiting for this since I finished Oblivion. And I had been waiting for that ever since my Morrowind saved game got wiped and I couldn't be bothered to restart it. XD

The dragons are interesting. I just hope it won't get samey... Oblivion, once you got to a certain power level, you could dispatch any number of demons in seconds. I bored of combat so quickly... I did go around stealthily, but eventually got bored and just ran everywhere to hack and slash.

But this has been a long time coming. Duke Nukem Forever has been delayed, cancelled, brought back into production and given a release date (and will be released) since Oblivion came out. If the video is anything to go by, they've put a lot of time into it. Always a good thing.

Unless you're Duke Nukem Forever...

I love TES. IMHO Morrowind was the best, but I liked Oblivion too. I think one of the best features is the Mod-Tool and the grat community that uses it. You can get a whole new game if you want.

i still have to start oblivion on 360 but, this game looks awesome. The experience gonna be very immersive I guess. But I have to finish oblivion first, because I think you can't play oblivion after have played at skyrim.

I still play oblivion to this day and never even finished the main storyline, though that might have more to do with my dislike of getting the world ruined by big red portals then all the sidequest content.

Can't wait for skyrim I just hope they will have a better combat system, granted there were some mods to fix that in the previous games but still.

I'm so excited for this game. It's going to severely hamper my efforts in university.
