A good friend introduced me to the comic earlier in the week, and I devoured the first 42 issues. It's strong subject matter, and somewhat intense, but it's an interesting read if you're into the zombie/ survival horror genre. The art style works nicely for it in my personal opinion.

I might have to check that out. I'm a huge fan of both comics and zombies.

What?? man, you're missing a lot if you haven't yet...

Robert Kirkman is the one of the best (if not the bestest) when it comes to the undead and cliff-hangers....and Kirkman's Walking Dead will get you "hungry" for more soon enough...and did I mention its not even in color?!?

If you do, check out the Marvel download section for Zombies...

I just caught up to the last issue in recent weeks and I agree, this is a truly amazing piece of work. Definatley for anyone who is a fan of the George Romero movies, as Kirkman uses the same style, tone and themes of Romero. Probably my favourite comic at the moment.

It reminded me of a Man named Kev. It's OK, nothing revolutionary.

If you are a Zombie fan this is essential reading, i was lucky enough to be with it from issue #1, and for me it is very revolutionary within the Zombie genre of comics, tv, book or film. No other zombie media has continued a story for week after week of the people's lives within the story, normally a film will end and thats that... don't you always want to know how they live the rest of their lives after they escape the zombie infest town! Well for the first time ever the walking dead shows you what every day living would be like in a zombie world!

And no i don't work for Image  but this really is my favorite monthly (well... nearly monthly!) and i can't recommand it enough to Zombie / Horror / Great Comic Book lovers.

Well, truth is...I'm no zombie fan..especially in comics..and its not even in friggin color! that is...until I read Kirkman's TWD...hello! I'm hooked! ImageImage cant' wait for the next one...and at the same time, I like the wait too...coz don't want it to end soon enough...but if it does...it definitely should be a TV series! Cliff-hanger every episode!

Kirkman kicks ass! (and he's already a partner at Image)

If you're a fan of George Romero's films, or horror in general I highly recommend Kirkman's "Walking Dead" as well. I was merely intrigued by the cool cover and the fact that it was a fairly recent startup. I've blown through the first 52 issues and am now clamoring for more. This may now be my favorite ongoing title. Thanks Comic Kingdom... you guys fahkin' rawk!

Anyone who is interesting in The Walking Dead should definitely check out some of Robert Kirkman's other works. Obviously the first 2 Marvel Zombie books are a must. But, if you dig superhero books then Invincible, Brit, Astounding Wolf-Man, Tech Jacket, Battle Pope and Capes may interest you too.

FANTASTIC book! The slow moments are the best. He writes dialogue as well as Bendis.

Walking Dead and Invincible are up there in my top five along with Powers. Beautiful stuff.

I'm assuming you meant that as a compliment :?

TWD is still a good book over six years on. Not sure about the "Hunt" storyline coming up next though. Been expecting this kind of thing to happen earlier, just hope Kirkman can handle it well.

I'm not too worried about the "Hunters". I just hope its not a repeat of the "Governor" arc. Just one of those was brutal enough.
