This thread feels lonely with no replies so I am gonna reply to it. I couldn't see the video cause its not longer available but boxing is okay to be honest its a bit boring watching it but I always think its better to do it then watch it.

My opinion on current boxing is a bit like my preferences in wrestling - the heavyweight divisions get the most hype but can be a bit tedious while the lower you go down the weight divisions the faster, more technical & more action packed the matches are.

boxing is lacking a new breed of fighters, its along way from the glory days

i never like kahn felt he was all hype and wishful thinking

In the UK one of the channels usually has 3 hours of boxing, not real big names and mainly middle weight and below.

Wouldn't say avid. There's not much on the box these days apart from on Sky which I don't want to subscribe to. Pay per view has pretty much killed the boxing on TV.
But if it's on we always try and watch it.

You know I do know that boxing is still around but it seems like it is less popular nowadays them most other sports.

As I said, I feel that the pay per view aspect has kinda killed it. Plus all the big fights are in the U.S which means something like a 3am start for those of us in the UK.
I remember we a chipped in for a Tyson fight, something like £30, only a few of us made it through to the start time (4am) and Tyson knocked the guy out in 30 seconds.

There is actually some good young talent in boxing which will hopefully bring the sport back as far as television popularity. I can get with having like serious major fights on PPV, but there are definitely some fights that have no business charging $60 for someone to watch.

Khan does have a suspect chin, but I think he'll be real good with Freddie Roach in his corner. Heavy Weight divison is terrible and will continue to be, in my opinon. Just like how the big slow centers of the past are dying out in the NBA, the big and slow boxers are dying out too. People are generally healthier these days and more athletic so that's why you see more talent and action in the lower weight divisions.

Plenty of good, young talent in boxing its just that the general public doesn't have the obvious exposure to it anymore. The move to cable tv hurt boxing biggly and even though the cable sub rate is pretty strong, it's obviously not strong enough. Considering that the competition has their product here, there and everywhere, boxing is going to have a hard time forward as they have no singular unified body to project it.
