As we all know comic book movies are the biggest thing right now or at least I think so. Now what comic book based movie should be made that hasnt already been made and isn't in the works? And more specifically I am talking about a live action film not a animation so once again what comic book film should be made into a live action film that hasn't been done already or isn't in the works?

I am actually gonna choose one from DC and Marvel. Its hard to choose just one for any of those comic books companies but I will try. For DC I would like to see Aquaman cause if done right it would be interesting and in my opinion a good movie. And for Marvel thats an even tougher choice since most of the good ones have already been made so to be honest I really can't choose any cause honestly there isn't one that comes to mind for me.

Sleeper and Fables, although the more I think about it, the more I feel that they might be better suited for television...

Fables has had a pilot episode commissioned by ABC, no idea when it's due to be aired though.

Duh! Anything Vaughan would do it for me,

DC / Vertigo - Swamp Thing v3 (very timely)

Marvel - Runaways (also very timely)

Others - Y the Last Man ....of course (but I really think it would be better as a TV show). ...and if he's done with it, Ex-Machina, (although I think I came across sometime ago that BKV doesn't want to turn it into a movie and wants it to remain as "just" a comic book)

A Martian Manhunter movie set in the 50s would be awesome.

Superman & Fantastic 4 reboots, Marvel Zombies (I know it'll never happen but I can always hope), and definately The Walking Dead.

Not so much film, but TV series as I believe it would treat the medium better, so I'll chip in with:
Fables - should eb very do-able.
With Ghasty Wasty on the Walking Dead thing.
Preacher - still in development in hell.
Hellblazer - An HBO series of this could be awesome.

With films I'll plump for:-
Jack of Fables - A movie every two years could work, different actor everytime to represent the many faces of Jack.
Foolkiller - mentioned this else where, but the 90's version is very timely in regards to the main character.
The Originals - Dave Gibbons story would be an easy translation.
Top 10: The Forty Niners - The retro future thing going on would be cool, kinda like Sky Captain, but better.
She-Hulk - gotta play it for some laughs though - Iron Man styley
Maus - animated movie, Oscars galore I say, Oscars galore

I'd like to see Fell made into a movie, or something decent based on a Steven Niles Graphic Novel (Freaks of the Heartland for instance).

There are some talents in filmmaking out there who can do quite amazing things. I was really impressed by the last 2 Batman movies, but on the other hand there are Spiderman 3 or Fantastic Four 2, The Hulk 2, The Spirit... :(

Even Watchmen really didn't work for me.

I think on of the problems to solve is the financing of sfx. Most of the comic conversions to movies requiere many and expensive sfx, which most of the networks don't seem to be willing to spend. So all what's left are the limited possibilities of a single movie.

So is it just me or would most comic book movies be better if more of them were Rated R like Watchmen was? cause that movie had graphic violence, nudity and sex thats the first comic book film that featured any of that. Unless you count seeing Kirsten Dunst's nipples in a wet t-shirt like she was in Spider-man and Spider-man 2. :joker:

If you were to judge comics using the movie ratings system them a hell of a lot of them would be R rated.

I just think that as long as you can get the right character combined with the right story you can make anything work.
