My overall general piece of advice is:

big fan of ONLINE play : xBox 360.
big fan of OFFLINE games : PS3.

While I know each console has examples that buck the trends, this is a good balance for a first choice.

The second point usually comes down to graphics. While the PS3 has superior hardware, non-exclusive games look better on the XBox because they are generally made first for XBox and then ported to PS3, sacrificing quality along the way.

PS3 exclusive games tend to look beautiful otherwise.

It's the other way around for me... then again I've only used our xbox 360 once to play alan wake..
PS3 all the way.

I keep wondering which one I should get as well.
All of my friends recommend Xbox 360, but PS3 seems better to me.

How big is the price difference?

360 for me, also Sony has never sold me on its product
