Ok, since the Kingdom went temporarily kaput a few days back...I decided to dust off my old PS and GC discs (instead of doing my socks laundry)...and while watching The Feed or X-Play re-run...I caught their feature on their Top 5 picks for fave games of All-time (regardless of console I think..)

Anyhoo...not surprising was the usual suspects...Halo, Zelda, uhmm..ok forgot the other two...but guess what they chose as Numero Uno???

I was friggin holding it while they were making drum rolls....how eerie is that!!!



And I agreed..1000% Re-played the suckah again...maybe later tonight...in the dark!

Cave Story

For sure, I don't think there is a better game, I know that there are some that are coming close. "The Underside" seems to be doing a good job, but currently completed games? Doubt anything is really better than that... :/

Ok, I confess...I was actually watching a re-run (from last year, didnt know it was that late) of X-play in which they listed their Top 10 Games "Ever" (actually only games they've reviewed since 2003 to 2007) as follows:



...and the thing that got me belatedly vindicated is that...I only own one of the games and it happened to be numbah 1

I'm sure there is some updated list...(if not better one...)

FF VIII, Onimusha 3, Pokemon Gold

FFVIII? Interesting choice. Not the more popular VII?

The only games on the list that I've owned are Halo, Guitar Hero, and KoTOR; and all 3 definitely belong on the list.

in my oh so humble opinion, the best Final Fantasy of them all is VI, it is still to this day hands down my faovrite FF game. My favorite game of all time though would have to be Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, I think I lost a stone (14lbs) playing this game every waking moment for about 2 weeks, I still own it to this day and refuse to part with it.

I'll take either Star Wars: KOTOR or Final Fantasy X (yes I said X) as my favorites.

Pretty decent list overall though.

Ok only reason I used to watch feed was for Keileigh but how can you stand X-Play? They are so annoying

KOTOR, KOTOR 2, Bloodrayne, Bloodrayne 2 and Devil may Cry.

I do however like silent hill, fatal frame, halo and other some such games.

KOTOR 2 ?! You ARE kidding right ? KOTOR the first is easily one of the best WRPG's of all time, I love it and still own the original Xbox copy to this day, will not part with it any time soon. KOTOR 2 on the other hand was developed by someone other than bioware and due too that it sucked ass imo. It was more or less a crappy carbon copy of the first and the ending was horrible, you beat the old woman and it fades out roll credits... wtf? bah!

There's so many different genre's it really is next to impossible to declare just one game the best ever so I'll post my favorites per genre.

In my opinion the best adventure game ever was made more than 10 years ago. Legend of Zelda The Ocarina of Time, this game set the bench mark at an all new high for action/adventure/rpg's and as far as I am concerned none since have touched that mark.

For a pure JRPG I often come to a difficult decision between Final Fantasy VI and IX. I love both, VI was truly epic in all its aspects for me, it had an amazing story with lots of depth, the character line-up was and is still probably the best grouping of characters in any JRPG and the FF games, except IX which also had a lot of depth and character development, something VII and VIII were lacking for me, although they were both great games in their own right. To get to the point, for a JRPG it's got to be Final Fantasy VI and IX.

The best Shooter I have ever played is Half Life 2 as part of the Orange Box. I can never stress enough how fantastic this game truly is and anyone who plays shooters should at least play this storyline once. You don't learn a lot about the main character, pretty much because the game is designed to make you feel as if you ARE the main character and everything is experienced through your own eyes. It's a great game I highly recommend it to everyone. Fallout 3 is a very very very close 2nd in this catagory, also highly recommended.

Sports, I personally like to play WWE games but I do also delve into EA Sports, such as FIFA 09. NBA Live and Madden NFL ( I'm a massive Bears fan!) kinda hard to elaborate on sports games, there isn't really much depth to them unless you're into the whole General Manager/Coach mode thing which I'm not and the addition of more and more detailed aspects of this function into EA games has started to put me off of playing sports games all together.

Agree on Half-Life but a good fps that is really underrated is Resistance: Fall of Man. Havent played the second so I cant comment on it but the first was a ton of fun for me
